Advancing DeKalb County (ADC) is a coalition of service providers who have joined together to identify and address the issues most important to DeKalb County communities. The partners are using the Collective Impact approach which establishes clear priorities through community engagement, leverages the power of united efforts, and provides continued feedback on the results of those efforts. Collective Impact is successfully solving problems in communities of all sizes across the country.
ADC is focusing on the issues of greatest importance to DeKalb County residents as identified through community surveys and stakeholder input. We are committed to continuous communication and transparency and will be reporting results on a regular basis through the Results Dashboard section on this website. Our efforts are coordinated through the DeKalb County Community Foundation and Northern Illinois University's Center for Governmental Studies.
Advancing DeKalb County launched in June 2014 with public support and distribution of a county wide survey (online, hard copy, and telephone). The survey results will help determine the issues of most concern to DeKalb County. ADC will then collectively chart paths to efficiently address those issues and report back to the community on measurable progress.
